I rented a room in an apartment in the center of Madrid through this agency for five months. Unfortunately, my experience was far from ideal. The room I was given was very small (few meter square), located in a basement, and faced an internal courtyard, which made it extremely dark and claustrophobic. I had to keep the lights on during the day due to the lack of natural light. The room was also poorly ventilated, which added to the discomfort. The apartment itself was shared with four other rooms, two of which seemed to have been added during a renovation, likely taking over the living room space. This resulted in very thin, soundproof walls that allowed every sound to travel easily from one room to another, making it feel like I was sharing a room with others. Additionally, the entire apartment was poorly lit, and natural light was barely present in any of the spaces. The kitchen was in a very poor state, dirty, and poorly maintained. There wasn’t even a table to sit and eat, which made socializing impossible in the only common area of the house. The cleaning service that comes once a week only did superficial cleaning, so the overall cleanliness didn’t improve. The bathroom was the only room in the apartment that was decently maintained. Unfortunately, the house also had issues with mold and buildup on the walls, which was concerning. Despite the agency arranging for pest control after my complaints, there were still cockroaches, likely due to the basement location and humidity. Another major issue was that the two smaller rooms in the apartment had no heating, which forced me to buy a space heater during the winter. While the agency was responsive to some of the issues, they never truly resolved them. I didn’t feel like they took the necessary steps to address the bigger concerns, and renting such a poorly maintained property makes me question their professionalism. On the plus side, the wifi and utilities (gas and heating) were included in the rent, and the charges never exceeded the limits set in the contract. Overall, I would not recommend this agency or the apartment. The location and included utilities were nice, but the apartment's condition and the agency's lack of effective action on issues left a lot to be desired. Additionally, price points vary so there is something for each person's budget. COLIVE also has at least one employee that speaks English, so you should be able to communicate with them smoothly. We had a cleaning lady come once a week and she was super nice and always made the place look great!

I loved living at villa 4. Having flatmates is sometimes complicated and even messy, but this place was perfect. Not so many roommates, so it was easy to keep clean and the weekly cleaning service made that even easier. The admin was always helpful and nice, willing to help in any way they could. This place became a “casita” for me and my roommates.
