Arriving here with our dog (25kg) was a great experience. Everyone loved our dog. The hotel is very pet friendly and she was allowed everywhere except the SPA and inside the pool. Rooms were very clean and tidy! Service was great, Selina gives you a free welcome drink between 18:00 and 20:00 which was welcoming. Location of the Selina Evora is just outside the walls of the old city. A 10 min walk will bring you to the heart of the city.

A decent hotel with well appointed rooms that include a small kitchenette with fridge and sink. The interior design has been well thought out and the rooms will cater for most needs. Front desk was a bit hit and miss with sometimes quite rude personnel and at other times very pleasant staff. Breakfast was included in the price and was good.

Okay, so, the location of this place is amazing, it’s basically right in the centre of Evora. We stayed there with our dog and cat, and the Hotel truly is super pet friendly, even allowed pets by the pool, and we were provided with a pet bed and bowls. Next, many reviews mentioned the pool and I would also have to accentuate the fact that the pool WAS truly dirty, with even a cockroach floating in one of them (look at photo) the bigger pool was more clean, but still yellow stains on the stairs. They lack filtration system. I swam a little bit, but wouldn’t recommend getting the water in the eyes and hair in general. On Sunday we were sitting by the pool and were surprised to see a huge wave of influencers coming to the pool, taking photos, DJ playing music. For my partner and I, it was more or less fun and since we are in our 20’s. However you could visibly see that other people with children and toddlers, on a family vacation were obviously confused and a little uncomfortable. Bare in mind we were not told about the party happening. And it was a little awkward with all the influencers sitting around. We later asked and this was a promotional party which lasted until 12pm. The service was okay, I ordered some room service (even though they don’t have any) but they still brought my order to my room which was nice. However the area by the pool was not tidy (see photo) The overall experience was good, but definitely room for improvement!

So this hostel is far better than other normal cheap hostels. The pool feels like an all inclusive resort (best part of our stay), there's AC and a TV in the room. However, the service is just very cold, no smiles (maybe it's a Portuguese thing), the AC was put SO high (to the point where I actually got sick there and left with a massive cold), there was what looked like mold in the shower (no vent and mostly dry wall so of course it was humid & moldy), and the second there was more than 6 tables occupied on breakfast, they were struggling to get things out such as plates and coffee...? Maybe they're understaffed due to the end of the season.

It's the second time I come to this hotel and it never disappoints. The rooms are really good, the food is also amazing (breakfast and restaurant) all the services were great and very easy to use. When I left I've asked for help to buy a wine for a friend and they had a employee who knew a lot about wines and helped me picking a local wine. Also after the check out they left us stay in the pool for the whole day. Great hotel, amazing staff a wonderful experience. 👏👏💪💪
