Stayed here for a festival, the hostel seemed fine, clean and staff were friendly enough. They had security etc However got back late one night from the festival and security couldn’t be bothered and had basically let anybody from the local area up in to the areas restricted for guests. There were people sleeping in hall ways in the kitchen and even found two people sleeping against the door of my room. It didn’t feel very safe !!!!

The place itself is a beautiful, modern hotel with amazing staff. They are so helpful and kind! I came with a program through my university where there were 18 of us in total and stayed for a week at this hotel. We are a BIG group so when I tell you the staff were helpful, they were outstanding. The rooms were fairly clean and so were the bathrooms. They cleaned our rooms almost everyday and. The location is not far from the centro (about 15-20 minutes walking), close to the subway and bus stations, and close to many other things. The hotel always had events going on during the afternoon and evenings (especially on the weekends). Some events were free for hotel guests and other events offered discounts. Overall, I had a good experience!

We booked this hostel months ago and turned up to the door to be told ‘no service’ and have the door closed upon us. The lady refused to serve us despite us showing her our booking confirmation. The contact number on the website turned out to be an old employee who could not help us. Strongly recommend to not book this place in Mexico City.

DO NOT BOOK! This is actually disgusting! I booked a room here 10 months in advance and somewhere during this time the Selina closed down. On Google you can still book a room even though the hostel is closed. We were not notified of the changes and only found out when we got to the hostel itself. I emailed reception a few days before our booking to double check the booking and heard nothing back. When we landed in Mexico City it was 10pm at night and we found out that the place was permanently closed. Apparently other travellers have turned up to the hostel with the same issue since they closed. Luckily our taxi driver helped us find another place to stay last minute.

Everyone was helpful and very kind. If you choose the option with breakfast, plan for 35-45 min for it to be served - it is tasty though. The room was pretty and clean. They also have activities organized throughout the week and communicate via WhatsApp. Overall, it was convenient. You can walk around and find bars and good restaurants. It is central enough to have access to bus and subways to get everywhere.
