Having just spent a month in Mexico with a weeks stay in Aldea Tuya at each end of our holiday we can certainly say that it felt like coming home on our second visit. We had Airbnb stays in Huatulco, Puerto Escondido and San Jose but none of them compared to the home comforts of Aldea Tuya, especially the very comfy king size bed in the main bedroom with its luxurious sheets complete with side pocket for phones and books. I’ve never come across that before, a super touch! Another plus is the lack of insects, I’ve never been so glad to escape the large ants, I can honestly say I never saw any bugs in Aldea Tuya. The space is peaceful, calm and very cool with lots of Oaxacan touches in a lovely safe trendy area with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The chilling hammock ceiling and terrace are good places to hang out especially in the hammock on the terrace which is a great spot to watch the sunset over the mountains. Loved the Christmas tree and decorations on our last visit so close to Christmas. So sorry we will miss Christmas in Oaxaca and Aldea Tuya! Stay at Aldea Tuya, you won’t be disappointed and Sophia and Ivan will certainly look after you.

What a wonderful place to stay…the quality of the property and the location are just perfect. We had cool places we had comfortable places - upstairs hammock is brilliant….and we had warm places. Our hosts, Sophia and Ivan, were on hand for any queries and always helpful. Every time we opened the door we thought there were crowds but really it was people stopping to photo the murals on the doors, these are quite the draw!! We visited other areas always intending to come back to Aldeya Tuya and actually found ourselves missing the place as other places we stayed just didn’t come up to scratch. So much to do in the area we will have to go back…and stay here!!!

My wife and I were so pleased to stay at Aldea Tuya and we can’t wait to come back! The accommodations, full kitchen, and rooftop chill space are all clean, super comfortable, and perfectly designed to have all of the modern comforts and space with beautiful traditional Mexican charm and inviting vibrance. On top of the amazing interior(and great Wifi!) the location is perfect as well. Nestled within Jalatlaco, the block is quiet and has easy parking out front yet the home is so close walking to everything from breakfast to dinner to post-dinner mezcal, in Jalatlaco and El Centro. It is also an easy less than 20 min drive from OAX airport as well. Ivan is an amazing host and a great guy. My wife and I greatly look forward to returning to Oaxaca and will definitely be staying at Aldea Tuya when we do!
