During my stay in Kyoto I used this place for about three weeks. It's a great place to experience the atmosphere of an old traditional Japanese building. The surroundings and gardens give a great peaceful view while working. Staff is friendly and always helpful in sharing tips about food and activities in town. I rented it as a work space on a business trip to Kyoto. There were no other users, so it was reserved. Even though the place is registered as a tangible cultural property, you can use it for 2,200 yen a day. I regret that I couldn't take the time to relax and look at the garden because I had a full day of meetings, but it was a really nice place.
