My friend and I stayed at Bassetto for a week. We booked the 10 person dorm but upon arrival discovered we were staying in the “stables”, of which did not have four enclosed walls. As such mosquitoes and other bugs found their way into our room, leaving us covered in bites. The room and entire “stables” accomodation area smelt of bird poo which wasn’t the most pleasant experience. It was however nice to discover that we would be staying in a semi private room of two instead of ten, but having said that this might be an awkward and unwelcomed surprise for solo travelers. The bassetto property was very beautiful and relaxing- equipped with a pool, hammocks and tables and chairs for outside dining. There are also a variety of activities offered, we however didn’t attend any as we felt they were a bit overpriced as such were out of our price range as budget travelers. While the area is lovely and peaceful the 25 minute walk to the station and 45 minute walk to the supermarket got old.

Had a great time here. Everyone is really friendly. It's a little bit out of the way but that's part of the charm. Lots of activities to do and would definitely stay again.

I had the perfect Tuscany-Experience thanks to this hostel! The location is ideal for city-daytrips or enjoying the countryside. The facilities are very authentic, so one should not expect a fancy hotel. But the very friendly staff cleans the accomodations daily, is ready to help with any problem at hand and organizes great trips and events.

The best place I stayed in all of Italy. Gorgeous spot with the best staff you'll ever meet in your life. The place is just a little piece of paradise on heart. If you're a traveler and you're looking for a great place to meet people, it's there. Not too far from the train station.

We had lunch there as a part of a 70 person. Day tour of Tuscany. The building we ate in was from the late 1800s, they had a fire in the fireplace in a large room in the 2nd floor. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed my food and time there. Wonderful view of the countryside from what I could see during our brief visit.
