We stayed in a private room, which was good. Hot water took some time. Not a very social hostel. There was supposed to be a karaoke evening but it got cancelled for no apparent reason. Location is good. Bar is expensive.

I am uncertain about how to express my thoughts, but let’s start. Initially, I booked a shared room accommodating 10 individuals for a duration of three days in November 2024; however, I was assigned a shared room for 12 individuals without prior notification. I communicated via the Booking app to inform them of my late arrival, approximately at 9 PM, due to my flight schedule. Upon my arrival, I noticed a guy was closing the reception and I was welcomed by the security guard, who gave me a piece of paper which did not even bear my name. He was courteous and provided me with the necessary instructions. The room was quite messy/dirty, and the bathroom was beyond words. There was just one bed, but it was cluttered with two backpacks and several bags. To make matters worse, there were no pillows, and I hesitated to take a photo since it was dark and I didn’t want to disturb the other guests. I simply couldn’t stay there! On the bright side, Selina was understanding and waived the cancellation fee. The facilities do look appealing, but please, Selina, improve your communication and provide information in advance about any changes. Travelers, please try to keep everything clean. Even though it’s no longer a Selina I’ve stayed in so many Selina’s that it’s hard not to see the similarities. Even the excursions at neighboring travel agencies have deals promoting Selina. With that being said I thought this was better than the Selina’s so the new ownership is moving in the right direction. The room was about 10-15% higher than I think it should have been. Pamela at the front desk was really helpful and kind and made my stay great. Food was very good and the location is excellent.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel in Antigua! It’s super cute, with plenty of cozy and fun hangout spots that make it easy to meet other travelers. The social atmosphere was great, but I also appreciated that I could find my own downtime when needed. The staff was fantastic—especially Pamela! She went above and beyond, giving us incredible recommendations for places to eat and things to try, and every single one was a hit. If you’re looking for a balance of social vibes and comfort in Antigua, this is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!

This place is super run down and not clean. Our room was super dirty, bugs everywhere, and even after requesting additional cleaning and support many times; we were left with overflowing trash bins and dirty showers. It was clear they were either uninterested in cleaning our room or understaffed. The property itself is drab and has clearly been deteriorating for some time. Not sure if the change from Selina aims to make it better? But I was shocked at how bad it was: Even for a hostel, this place really is lacking. The staff are nice and as helpful as can be, but it’s difficult to make up for the poorly maintained property.
