First the bad things and unfortunately there are many of them - we entered the room at night and it turned out that there was a bat in the room, we called the hotel employee and after a long struggle I managed to catch the bat flying over our belongings and the clean sheets and even standing on one of the beds. For us this is the first time in life and we have been around hotels all over the world. But this is not the biggest problem and it is even forgivable because the hotel is not responsible for the natural life in the area. A much bigger problem is that the hotel does not have enough parking and there is no where to park the car outside the hotel because it is a narrow and mountainous road, when we complained about the problem because we found ourselves without parking at ten in the night we were told that the hotel does not state that it has parking. A very strange answer because there is no alternative parking in the area. In the lobby and in the rooms there is no coffee or tea or just a kettle and for a cup of coffee you have to drive to the nearest village. We asked to buy a bottle of water, but this hotel also does not have that. I emphasize that the hotel is located outside the city or village and there are no shops or a supermarket. In the bathroom there was no glass shower or nylon curtain and there was no mop to remove the water and the water reached the room. The view is beautiful and the breakfast is good, although they asked for an additional payment for some of the breakfasts, which is not acceptable in good hotels. Unfortunately this hotel receives a very low score.

Charming place! My (private) room had a stunning view. It’s very peaceful and relaxed here, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. If you’re traveling here you do really need to hire a car, so you can get around and explore the mountain villages or even go all the way to the coast. The hostel has car parking. Thanks for having me!

TEN STARS! 🌟✨💫⭐️🌠🤩✴️🌌 I absolutely loved my stay here. I came for one night, as I needed a place to sleep before going sailing for a week, but when I finished that, I came back and ended up staying about a month or longer here. It is still one of my most cherished travel memories. I loved the Selina. Very clean. Cool design. Beautiful surroundings. The village of Makrinitsa is a true GEM! 💎I really enjoyed the pure solitude and quietness of the village. It was a nice reminder to slow down and appreciate life for all it has to offer. I got to know more than a few locals whom I now call friends (and miss very much!) I was there during the time of the grand opening, so I really enjoyed the weekend of festivities, food, music, and cultural experiences. The Selina staff arranged for some activities which I loved, including rock climbing, cooking class, and horseback riding. 👨🏻🍳🧗🐴 Throughout my stay, I stayed in four different rooms. From dorm style to private ensuite. Each was perfect and cozy. You can feel the hand-decorated touch added to each room. Oh, there is a lot of beautiful art and murals throughout the sprawling property. I love the maze of stairs, pathways and corridors. It seems to help keep the place cool. Another thing I really enjoyed was hearing the water running in nearby streams and fountains, with fresh water coming down from Mt. Pelion. 🥰 The view from Selina, as well as anywhere in the village is simply stunning. The sunsets are incredible. I loved every single moment. I think I see myself visiting here many more times for the rest of my life. 💙 Last thing I want to say, the people I met in Makrinitsa, Volos, and the surrounding region, are some of the KINDEST and most generous I’ve ever met. 💖 If you have the chance to stay here, you will not be disappointed. Come with an open heart and mind and you will find some new discoveries for your life.

This was the nicest stay I've had so far at a hostel. I've had 2 weeks to discover Makrinitsa and the Selina hostel was amazing. Breath taking views, delicious breakfasts, awesome co-working spaces, clean rooms and great service. The area is nice, lots of trails nearby and good restaurants with traditional food. Volos is also easy to get to with a car/bus. Special thanks to Konstantina, Maki and Irene for being so cool. Will definitely continue going to Selinas! I mean, c'mon, there was a frickin' sauna in the bathroom!

A must for those who visit the majestic mount Pelion for the first time. Not your typical bed'n'breakfast, an amazing youthful project offering a variety of stylish but comfy rooms to suit every traveler's needs, from youth groups to couples to families, there's something for everyone. Managers and staff were super friendly and accommodating, always to be reached and eager to offer tips for the entire area, helping us make the most of our 3-day visit to the beautiful town of Makrinitsa and Pelion mountain. Even tempted for a bit to try some yoga on the terrace for myself, but finally opted for cocktails at the hotel cafe's balcony, enjoying the breathtaking views over Pagasitikos gulf and the coty of Volos. Maybe I had myself one too many to drink, and think I saw a centaur wave at me! Thanks you Selina for a truly beautiful experience. Will definitely visit again
